Here's my preview of the 2004 Seattle Erotic Art show (see "link"/"more" for the write up). It's funny, I have a sneaking suspicion I'm going to get another posse of weird hits from sticking this on my web site (why, for example, am I currently getting hits from animal.amateurp**nhost.com? Is it the reference to Monkey Rugs?), but there's no telling when it's going to make it online for real. I should probably tinker with the ending a little bit- it still feels tacked on (it's a political screed waiting to be more fully developed) - but it will be easy to work with it, imperfect though it is, once it's online.

The sad thing? I'm not going to be able to go at all because I'm already booked to go to Mexico that weekend, and writing this article pretty much guaranteed me free entry to ANYTHING I wanted. Oh well. Making friends with Cleo of Burning Hearts Burlesque was worth my while - I may be auditioning for her soon, and today I received a request to help her with their press releases, which I will absolutely do. I also was pleased to renew my aquaintance with Kathyn of Viva Wylde, who I most sincerely hope will seek to perhaps pull me into her circle of friends, and the mere fact of having Allena Gabosh treat me like someone worth her time was a thrill (she called me a "sex-positive vanilla" - couldn't she have said "white chocolate" or "cinnamon latte" instead?).

This can't be true, because I know there are small children who will, for a time, only eat hotdogs or macaroni and cheese. But I, for a start, don't like seafood, or beer or coffee. I also don't like mushrooms and olives. Fortunately, this makes me fairly cheap to feed. I'm convinced that many of these dislikes are genetic, as I think my family on my dad's side all like coconut and tomatoes and dislike broccoli and cauliflower. I used to dislike almost all vegetables, in fact, until I started getting into more Indian and Thai food and eating less overcooked vegetables in butter. So while I mostly don't like peas or eggplant or cooked carrots, you will occasionally see me nibbling on them at an Indian buffet. Asparagus is still a big no, though. Bleah. And I still can't stand blue cheese.

Spices: I dislike dill and mustard/wasabi.
Desserts: nothing flavored like coffee or peanuts.
Drinks: the above, plus gin and whiskey and grapefruit juice. And colas. I hate colas.

1. This month: Start voice lessons. Take a return trip to England. Update resume and send to UK office. Get clips together and send to the Stranger.
2. February: get brilliant review at work (promotion and raise). Audition for Gilbert and Sullivan society. Go to Hawaii.
3. April: return to England?
4. July: perform in G&S show. Go to various weddings. Have sister come visit.
5. August: become an ex-pat.

It seems like a short list but there are really a lot of unknowns involved here. I wasn't even able to finish reading two books by Faulkner in all of 2004 - how can I possibly think I can move to another country? At least I think I'm in good shape at work ...
