It's T-day minus 36 hours - I'm starting dinner earlier this time. I've only got the cranberry chutney made, and the bread for the stuffing - I should have done the chocolate pecan pie already.

I'd better examine the recipes and see what else I can do tonight. My plan was to do the stuffing, but maybe there's some other stuff I can start on early.

I've been making this for the last five Thanksgiving dinners I've hosted, and I love it.

Sweet Potatoes with Honey and Lime
1 T + 1 t coarse salt
6 sweet potatoes, peeled and quartered lengthwise
6 T honey
1/4 c freshly squeezed lime jice
1 small fresh red chile pepper, thinly sliced
2 T unsalted butter, melted
1/8 t freshly ground black papper
2 T fresh cilantro leaves

Either grill or roast at 450 degrees

1. Boil potatoes (with 1 T of the salt) for about 4 minutes.
2. Combine rest of ingredients in bowl. Coat sweet potatoes with marinade.
3. Wrap half the sweet potatoes and any excess marinate in each of 2 foil packets.
4. Roast, turning every 10 minutes, until tender and carmelized, 20 or 30 minutes.
5. Serve garnished with cilantro.

Maureen Dowd has a great, thought-provoking article in this week's New York Times Magazine. What was feminism supposed to bring us, and where have we landed?
