I've picked my tulips out for the year. From "Old House Gardens," I've chosen T. acuminata, Willem van Oranje, and my splurge, Insulinde (as well as a bunch of double hyacinths to give to someone as a gift, as mine are now naturalizing nicely). Tomorrow I'll get in my order to Van Engelen, which will be:
Species: Tulipa vvedenskyi, a.k.a.Tangerine Beauty (8', mid-May so a very late bloomer: 50)
Early: Flair (orange, 14")
Darwin: Silverstream (yellow and rose, 24")
Late: Single Pastel Mixture (which will bloom not as prettily as a single type but last much longer)

September: get in clips to the Stranger.
October: go to Hawaii, and plant tulips for the spring.
November: I am thinking about a wee UK trip over B-movie weekend.
December: trip to London (and Detroit if we feel like coughing up the extra $800) over Christmas/New Year's. Possible stop in Portugal or Paris beforehand.
January: do that gum surgery thing again, on the top half of my mouth. Bleah.
February: review time at work; be brilliant, get fat raise. Or something like that.
March: week long trip to Mexico to kayak the Sea of Cortez from Loreto to La Paz.
April/May: possibly go back to London while I can still get shoulder season rates, possibly host London guest(s) here.
