For some reason, flights to NYC for Christmas are fairly expensive, even from a major gateway like London. So where else could we get to for £400? Let's see ...

December 25th, to "Puerto Plata," Dominican Republic, £ 624.98
Dec 20th, to Goa, £944.98 - not so cheap, really
Dec 24th, to Cancun, £1,258.98 - well, also not a deal.

Hmm. I get the feeling everyone wants to get to a sunny place in December rather badly.
