I'm excited because my sister is coming to visit me in October and we're going to Italy. She said last year when she came to visit she would really like to go there, and, since I had an across-the-ocean frequent flyer ticket from United, I wanted to make this dream a reality for her.

The plan currently is that we will stay in Rome, Bologna, and Venice, possibly doing side trips to Florence and Padua.

For Rome, I'm not sure what hotel we will stay at. Gulliver's Place looks like about the only one we can afford.

For Bologna, I'm thinking the Albergo delle Drapperie would be great.

For Venice, Frommer's description of the Pensione Guerrato has convinced me. Their prices are so good!
